The 4Cs of diamonds
They are universal criteria for evaluating a diamond's quality
Color
Diamond color is graded on a scale from D (colorless) to Z (light yellow or brown). The less color a diamond has, the higher its grade and value. However, subtle color differences can be challenging to discern with the naked eye.
Clarity
Clarity measures the presence of internal and external flaws or imperfections in a diamond, known as inclusions and blemishes, respectively. The clarity scale ranges from Flawless (no imperfections visible under 10x magnification) to Included (imperfections visible to the naked eye).
Cut
The cut of a diamond refers to how well it has been shaped and faceted. It includes factors like the diamond's proportions, symmetry, and polish. A well-cut diamond reflects light brilliantly, resulting in its signature sparkle and brilliance.
Carat Weight
Carat is a unit of measurement for a diamond's weight. One carat is equivalent to 0.2 grams. Larger diamonds are generally rarer and more valuable, but it's essential to consider the other Cs for overall quality.
